Gulleggið 2016

A trophy for an entrepreneur competition on behalf of icelandic startups

The designers for this years Golden Egg are Auður Inez Sellgren and Elsa Dagný Ásgeirsdóttir product designers. They started their collaboration after their graduation in May 2015 and have been working together ever since. This years trophy is made out of copper and was made in collaboration with Icelandic local aluminum company Hella. Copper has been used by men for thousands of years and is a perfectly recyclable material, so in a way, this years trophy could be seen as currency.

In a creative process there is a lot that can go wrong but mistakes often lead to new discoveries. The objects purpose is to remind people to be open to changes and welcome unpredictable outcomes.
