Weather affects what people need and what people need affect what people make. This project is about the exploration of different places, conditions and craftsmanship.

The focus in this project is set on local crafts and its connection to the weather, physical and conceptual. We started with our own local base in Reykjavík, Iceland with a research based exhibition on DesignMarch 2015 that showed a window into the first steps of the project. Next we took the project to Chongming Island in eastern China, an island hundred times smaller than Iceland but with twice the inhabitants. There we were able to perform a similar research in a totally different context. We used local materials and production to find a relevant process to make a byproduct from the locals everyday life.
